Motor Rally 2008 ~ Cyprus Troodos
This weekend see the Troodos Motor Rally underway here in Cyprus. There is a slight change this year as the town of Geriskipou is hosting the event, this is on the Paphos side (west) of the island. It is organised by the CAA ~ Cyprus Automobile Association.
Our sedate, agricultural village Polemi, in the hills, will come alive with the roar of the engines. Beware anyone trying to cross the unpoliced, unmarked roads!
As a Brit expat, my first encounter with the rally was breathtaking to say the least, no barriers, no public protection and miracles do happen, no deaths!
There has been 4am sneaky practises going on recently, we could hear the squeal of tyres as the sun was struggling through and the village was not quite awake.
